What looks like a coastline, fault line, or distant planet began as a discarded oyster shell.
At a scale where the object becomes unfamiliar, calcified layers turn into a record of weather, collision, accretion, and repair. Littoral Fractures asks the viewer to slow down long enough for the ordinary to become unknowable.

Each work begins with a single recovered shell and a controlled photographic process. Nothing is painted in; the material supplies its own weather.
